W. David Pointer (BSNE, University of Tennessee, 1997; MSNE, University of Tennessee, 2000; PhD, nuclear engineering, University of Tennessee, 2001) is a Computational Fluid Dynamics analyst and developer in the Reactor Analysis and Engineering Division of Argonne National Laboratory. His background includes simulation of internal and external flows using computational fluid dynamics, validation of computational predictions using scaled experiments, high-power accelerator target design, liquid-metal heat transfer analysis, and numerical simulation of natural-convection-driven systems. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the North American Young Generation in Nuclear.
