Lisa is a nuclear engineer at Dominion Generation in Richmond, Virginia.
She earned her B.S. from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1994 and her
M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997. Since 1995,
most of Ms. Shell's research and working experience has been focused on
spent nuclear fuel management, first as a member of the technical staff for
the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board and then in Dominion's Nuclear
Analysis and Fuel department. Presently, she is assigned to Dominion's Six
Sigma program and is working on various process improvement projects within
the Nuclear Business Unit.
Lisa's local and international NA-YGN participation began in 2001. She has
organized or participated in activities to counter anti-nuclear campaigns
and to reach out to the public through events like Science Teacher's
workshops, Earth Day in Richmond, Womengineers Days at Old Dominion
University, and seminars for high school students. Lisa also volunteers
her time as the Corporate Relations Chair for the International Youth
Nuclear Congress and is an active member of ANS.
