NA-YGN Committees
The North American Young Generation in Nuclear relies
on the generous volunteers who make up our committees.
Without their dedication, we could not achieve all that
we do. If you would like to join a committee, contact the
NA-YGN Communications Chair.
Awards & Honors - The Awards & Honors committee shall be responsible for developing
and maintaining all guidance for awards and honors granted by the Corporation. The committee shall annually solicit nominations for awards and honors in accordance with the guidance for each award or honors. The
Awards Chair shall be appointed annually by the President. The Communications Chair shall serve as the core liaison to the Awards & Honors committee.
Benchmarking - The Benchmarking committee shall be responsible for the annual development, distribution and analysis of a survey of the NA-YGN membership to quantify factors which impact job selection, career satisfaction and effective professional development among young professionals. The Benchmarking Chair shall be appointed annually by the Vice President. The Vice President shall serve as the core liaison to the Benchmarking committee.
Conservation - The Conservation committee shall be responsible for creating programs which promote energy conservation. The Conservation Chair shall be appointed annually by the President. The Public Information Chair
shall serve as the core liaison to the Conservation committee.
Fundraising - The Fundraising committee shall be responsible for the coordination of all fundraising efforts on behalf of the corporation. The Fundraising Chair shall be appointed annually by the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall
serve as the core liaison to the Fundraising Committee.
Intersociety Relations - The Intersociety Relations committee shall be responsible for promoting and maintaining relationships between the NA-YGN and other technical and professional societies with an interest in nuclear science & technology. The Chair of the Intersociety Relations committee shall be the President.
Knowledge Transfer - The Knowledge Transfer committee shall be responsible for establishing programs to promote improved transfer of knowledge between generations of industry employees. The Knowledge Transfer Chair shall be appointed annually by the President. The Past President shall serve as the core liaison to the Knowledge Transfer Committee
Membership - The Membership committee shall be responsible for establishing and implementing a program to recruit and retain members. The Chair of the Membership committee shall be the Membership Chair. The Communications Chair shall serve as the core liaison to the Membership committee.
Public Information - The Public Information committee shall be responsible for establishing and implementing a program to inform and educate the public-at-large about the facts and benefits of nuclear science and technology.
The Chair of the Public Information committee shall be the Public Information Chair
Professional Development - The Professional Development committee shall be responsible for establishing and implementing a program of professional development for the members of the NA-YGN. The responsibilities of the
Professional Development committee shall include managing NA-YGN workshops, seminars, sessions, or other involvement in technical and professional society conferences and at other stand-alone events, including helping to organize/chair sessions, identify and contact speakers, acting as a technical paper reviewer, serving as a speaker or panelist, etc. The Chair of the Professional Development committee shall be the Professional Development Chair.
Publications - The Publications Committee shall be responsible for managing and maintaining the publications of the Corporation. The Chair of the Publications Committee shall be appointed annually by the President. The Communications Chair shall serve as the core liaison to the Publications Committee.
Recruiting and Retention (R&R) - The Recruiting and Retention committee shall be responsible for developing programs to attract new young professionals to the nuclear science and technology industry and to aid the industry
in retaining young professionals. The Recruiting and Retention Chair shall be appointed annually by the President. The Vice President shall serve as the core liaison to the Recruiting and Retention Committee. Activities include, but are not limited to: -Regional Industry Career Fairs – The R&R committee shall be responsible for coordinating and organizing industry career fairs on an annual basis. The R&R chair shall designate and appoint Regional Career Fair Specialists within each of the NA-YGN regions to support this effort.
