NA-YGN Announcements
A Message from President Kurzeja
We have all heard many talk about the "Nuclear Renaissance." While indeed, we have seen some exciting signs that our industry is growing, we still face numerous challenges to that growth. To make the Nuclear Renaissance a reality, we must become actively engaged in solving these challenges. We cannot simply turn a blind eye and hope that everything works out. We must act. One area we cannot overlook is engaging with our public officials.
Last month, nearly 250 NA-YGN members participated in a "Capitol Hill Day" and I'm proud to say that NA-YGN was the largest delegation ever to talk about nuclear energy issues on Capitol Hill. On June 8th, I testified before members of the U.S. Senate Committee of Energy and Natural Resources and urged them to create the legislative environment to support new nuclear in the United States.
While these events clearly demonstrate our organizations commitment to engaging with our public officials, we must continue to increase our efforts. Across the globe, our politicians are debating the future of energy and our voices must be heard! I urge each of you to contact your local, regional, and national representatives and advocate for the many benefits of nuclear power. Please contact pi@na-ygn.org to get more involved.
