NA-YGN Local Chapters provide local and regional opportunities for our
members to contribute to our mission to demonstrate our commitment to the
future of nuclear science and technology. Local Chapters organize local events
and activities that reach out to their communities, support their local
educational institutions, and provide professional development opportunities
for their members. Local Chapters are critical to NA‑YGN's
success in accomplishing our goals and meeting the needs of young nuclear
professionals.
NA-YGN Local Chapters are very diverse in their form and function. Some
Local Chapters are affiliated with a single company site. Others have members
from different companies within a region. Some Local Chapters are highly
structured organizations that have elected officers and established rules and
bylaws. Others are ad hoc organizations run by committee. Some Local Chapters
focus on public outreach activities. Others focus on workforce issues such as
knowledge transfer or employee retention. All Local Chapters, however, share a
common commitment to meeting the specific needs of the professionals whom they
serve.
