NA-YGN Professional Development Workshop
San Francisco, CA May 16-18, 2006
This year, over 150 participants joined together in San Francisco, CA for the North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NA-YGN) Annual Workshop, "Innovate & Rejuvenate: Act Today, Change Tomorrow!" Our speakers and program were armed to live up to the workshop's theme and passed along their pearls of wisdom not just to young professionals, but to the young at heart and from all walks of the nuclear industry, engineers and non-engineers alike! Prior to the workshop, all local chapter leads participated in our 1st annual Local Section Management Practicum and shared ideas on how to rejuvenate their chapters, address specific challenges like budgeting and strategic planning, and exchanged activities to help bring in new experiences to their membership. We also recognized Angie Howard, Vice President, Office of the President and Executive Advisor to the President of NEI, with the 2006 George Hairston Visionary Leadership Award for her outstanding display of iniative, vision and dedication to the North American Young Generation in Nuclear.
It was an exciting event and the presentations are included below (please be patient when opening the presentations as some of the files are very large) - however, if you really want to be part of the experience, mark your calendars for next year's NA-YGN Annual Workshop, May 22-23, 2007, at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort in Miami Florida! If you wish to help shape next year's workshop, join the Program Committee by contacting Ryan Stone, stone@na-ygn.org!
